For most people, I bet you have heard about the nature conservancy but may not know exactly what they do. “The Nature Conservancy is a global environmental nonprofit working to create a world where people and nature can thrive.” Their mission is to “conserve lands and waters on which all life depends.” The nature conservancy was founded in 1951 and now “impacts conservation in 72 countries and territories.”

The nature conservancy has already made a significant positive impact on our environment. They have already “protected more than 125 million acres of land, countless miles of rivers and streams and the world’s largest oceans.” They also focus on tackling climate change, providing food sustainably and building healthy cities.

Here is a link to see what your carbon footprint is. Obviously, it is a very general tool but it can really help you visualize your individual families impact on the environment and what activities add to your carbon footprint. To help the nature conservancy continue to do their work become of member today.
